Web2 feb. 2024 · Kickdown cable is only for kick down. Has nothing to do with upshift. It’s possible it’s not connected in the transmission. If it has an aftermarket modulator valve that is adjustable, you can take a very small screwdriver inserted in the vacuum hole and screw the adjustment in. That should make the shift later.

Press down hard on the clutch, release it, and repeat as quickly as you can. You can tell it is working when the car continues rotating without slowing down at all. I guess the only actual "unique" part about the BMW kickdown switch is that it an actual switch that you can physically feel then it is engaged. Yes, other cars will kickdown when floored but there is no further point engagement of the pedal once floored like with BMW kickdown.
